TIG Carbon Offset

TIG Carbon Offset

Global warming is becoming a bigger and bigger threat to our planet, with deforestation being a large contributing factor. As an industrial printing company, we understand the impact that deforestation has on our environment, and so we are taking extra steps in order to reduce our carbon footprint and impact on the environment.

What is Carbon offset?

Carbon offset is a process of compensating for the carbon emissions produced by human activities such as industrial production. The main aim of carbon offsetting is to reduce greenhouse gases from the atmosphere to mitigate climate change.

Organisations can purchase carbon offsets to support environmentally friendly projects such as renewable energy initiatives, reforestation, or energy efficiency programs. By doing so, the offsetting process helps to balance the amount of carbon produced by organisations with the reduction of carbon emissions in the atmosphere, thus neutralising the overall impact on the environment. Carbon offset is a way to encourage sustainability and reduce the negative impact on the environment.

Why is Carbon Offset Important?

Carbon offsetting is important because it helps to reduce the overall carbon footprint of industries, businesses and individuals. Carbon emissions contribute to global warming and climate change, and carbon offsetting provides a way to counteract these negative effects by investing in projects that reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

It also allows us to take responsibility for our impact on the environment and take action towards mitigating our carbon emissions. By offsetting carbon emissions, we can help to ensure a more sustainable future for ourselves and for future generations.

How we achieve Carbon Offset

Here at TIG, we understand the responsibility we hold as an industrial printing company. Thus, we have taken action to reduce our carbon footprint by investing in carbon offset projects.

We partner with both Antalis and Premier Paper to provide our clients with carbon offset paper. The fee we pay to offset the carbon in the production and delivery of paper we use for our clients goes to local and worldwide initiatives.

The Premier Paper organisation is part of the Carbon Capture programme. The Carbon Capture initiative helps to alleviate the carbon dioxide emissions that result from the manufacture and transportation of paper and materials sourced from Premier. This program enables customers and their associates to participate alongside well-known brands in giving their enthusiastic support to the operations of the Woodland Trust. Through Carbon Capture, every contribution made goes directly to the Woodland Trust to fund the plantation of native woodland across the United Kingdom.
